Get Involved – Join the Gravity Grand Prix Team!

The Gravity Grand Prix isn’t just an action-packed, family-friendly event—it’s also an incredible community fundraiser, held each year in Cookham Dean, completely free for everyone to enjoy. For over a decade, our principal charity beneficiary has been Thames Valley Air Ambulance, a vital emergency service that has provided life-saving care to our local community time and time again.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of volunteer organisers on the Planning Committee work tirelessly to make this event a success. Their efforts ensure that race day runs smoothly and safely, but they can’t do it alone—we always need extra hands to keep things on track! We've been fortunate to receive support from local organizations, volunteer staff from Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and generous helpers from the local community, but there’s always room for more. Our needs for around 120 volunteers are met through support from local organizations, as well as many generous individuals within the community who step forward to help. If you can spare just an hour or two, it would make a huge difference.

Ways You Can Help

There are plenty of ways to get involved, whether it’s in the lead-up to race day or during the event itself:

And one of the most important tasks—helping with the take-down operation after the event! Packing up equipment, cleaning up litter, and restoring the village to its original condition is crucial, and having extra hands at this stage makes the job much easier. Plus, with enough help, we might even make it to the pub for a well-earned drink!
